EarthSounds is starting our new term on Jan 11th! EarthSounds meets once or twice a month and we learn beautiful music from around the world. Our repertoire will draw on vocal folk traditions of North America, Latin America, Eastern Europe, South Africa and many more… From Jubillee Gospel Quartets to Georgian lullabies to South African song and dance – we will stretch our voices in many directions, widen our knowledge of singing styles from around the world and deepen our understanding of where the music comes from. EarthSounds is a non-auditioned choir that is open to anyone who loves to sing.
We will meet at the beautiful Belterra Common House for 6 Thursday nights from 7:00 pm -9:30 pm. We will learn the music both from written scores and by ear – however you do not need to know how to read music! All that is needed is a readiness to learn, an openness to new sounds and languages and a love of singing together!
This term we have a very exciting opportunity – we will share a concert with Shari Ulrich on Sat April 21st!
