SongRoutes – Cuba! is an intensive musical study trip in Matanzas and Havana designed for professional musicians, music educators and advanced singers. The focus for this trip will primarily be Cuban choral music and we will also study some Afro-Cuban music and dance. There are optional salsa dance classes and the potential for side study in choral conducting or instrumental lessons.
We will spend the first 7 days in Havana – in the heart of 
the city in the famous Vedado neighbourhood. In Havana we will study with Alina Orraca, Maribel Nodarse and Obini Bata. For our last three days, we will travel along the coast to Matanzas – a city renowned for it’s vibrant Afro-Cuban folk culture. In Matanzas we will study with Jose Mendez, Luis Bran and members of the Grupo Afro Cuba.
