New Orleans, Cajun and Creole Country - Jan 9-19 2019
Highly Motivated By Fun Tour
SongRoutes is thrilled to be embarking on our first Louisiana Arts and Culture Tour! This trip will be a 10 day voyage jam-packed with music, dance, food, history and learning all about this fascinating region that is unlike anywhere else in North America. We will be splitting our time between New Orleans and Cajun and Creole Country - where we will meet and learn from local artists, cooks and historians.
The birthplace of Jazz and the home of an incredibly rich African-American culture, New Orleans has created and nurtured a deep and powerful world of music, cuisine, community and arts. The Cajuns, driven down south and exiled to the bayous, brought their vibrant music and traditions to help them survive and flourish into a culture that is very much alive and well today. There are few places in North America where music is so vibrant, respected and celebrated. The music grabs you and invites you to participate. Rich in culture, folkways, music, dance, cuisine and most importantly people and community - Louisiana is a special place to visit and learn from.
We will listen, learn, dance, cook, taste, participate and enjoy!
