SongRoutes is offering an intensive musical study trip in Matanzas and Havana designed for people who love to sing and dance. This trip will serve as an introduction to several singing and dance traditions. Applicants must be hearty & easy going travellers who love to learn music by ear and dance every day!

We will spend the first 3 days in Havana – in the heart of the city in the famous Vedado neighbourhood. In Havana we will study with Obini Bata, visit professional choirs and experience some cultural highlights. For our next seven days, we will travel along the coast to Matanzas – a city renowned for it’s vibrant Afro-Cuban folk culture. In Matanzas we will study with Jesús Bello and members of the Grupo Afro Cuba & Los Muñequitos de Matanzas. We will work with the artist collective El Almacen and experience the incredible arts & culture of Matanzas and also have some time to enjoy the nearby beach!
